Open-source software to generate hand-drawn 2D animations
Pencil is a multiplex free open source tool that enables you to draw and measure 2D art.
The pencil can not compete with Flash, although its animations are located in kframes and at different levels. Like flash, each frame of your animation must be hand-tight when using a pencil.
The pencil lets you create four layers: bitmap layers, vector layers, sound layers, and video layers, all of which require their associated components to create an animation.
Mac version allows you to export video to your animation, which is still missing for Windows version.
