Concept maps are a great tool when complex theories and proposals can be explained which are made up of several basic concepts related to others. There are plenty of apps available to help develop the concept map such as DAI (GNU) or Intrepid Knowledge Map (shareware), but they are all functional and not as fully featured as Simaptulas.

This allows for interactive diagrams created by this tool that lets you interact with content from your browser. Also, sharing your ideas map and its resources online is a very useful feature. There are tons of available public servers that will save your map and all associated files related to it.

An idea is easy to create a map, double-click on the screen background and add the diagram and drag the arrow wherever you want. Users can then modify size, color, font, link size, or a background image and attach resources to each shape.
